In 1828, a gentleman and an avid gambler named William Crockford set out to establish a luxurious club fit for diplomats, royalty, and aristocrats. At that time, such establishments were illegal, but Mr Crockford was undeterred: he was continually fined, but he kept his doors open.
We have undertaken a number of projects within the exclusive Gentings London brand:
Crockfords
We undertook a full refurbishment of the Club over 12 weeks. The finish was incredibly high-end including marble and concrete panels. The refurbishment included the rooftop Smoking Terrace. This space is so opulent, that it appears to still be indoors, including mahogany fixtures, drapes and carpet. A key challenge for this project was delivering the materials to the roof – sixth floor of the building. We did this using external access scaffolding, which straddled the Listed glass ceiling of the ballroom on a lower floor.
The Colony Club
The Colony Club is a superb contemporary space, with streamlined contours and motifs of an age of romance and sophistication. The Club is one of London’s most stylish premium casinos. We refurbished the Club’s Restaurant, including the Teppanyaki Bar, all of which oozes glamour, style and sophistication. Situated on the first floor the Restaurant includes a glamourous bar and plush furnishings, as well as bespoke light fittings.
The Palm Beach Casino
The Palm Beach Casino, is an exclusive London Mayfair casino and poker club. It has a distinctive style and creates an atmosphere perfect for a sophisticated night out. We undertook a full refurbishment of the Casino, delivering a high-end finish befitting this exclusive Club.
Maxims Casino Club
We undertook a full refurbishment of the Club, from the basement up. This included the restaurant and bar in the basement; the ground floor main and private gaming areas; and the first floor main and private gaming areas; as well as the whisky lounge bar with its extensive display of whiskies. Areas of the building were Listed, and therefore it was essential that our fit-out was sympathetic to the Listed status. We delivered extensive intricate joinery, full decoration and fitting of new carpets. A key challenge for this project was moving materials between floors, as there were no lifts.
