We undertook the refurbishment of Mayfair’s Colony Club Casino to provide a glamorous, elegant and more spacious new look gaming floor. Located off London’s Park Lane, the casino aims to be amongst the world’s leading and most exclusive casinos.
The refurbishment, which included the re-modelling of the gaming floor increasing the slot machines and electronic table games, marries tasteful opulence with contemporary style, whilst retaining the remarkable welcome and service of old.
We were able to enlarge the gaming floor by relocating the Main Reception area and Salle Privée 2. We also refurbished the original Salle Privée. We installed a ceiling feature in the main gaming area, and a bespoke full Broadloom patterned carpet – each reflecting the other. We provided a new private dining facility which complements the restaurant and Teppanyaki facility on the first floor. We also installed an LED ceiling feature that flows from the ground floor bar area, up a new feature staircase, to the restaurant entrance at first floor. Situated adjacent to the gaming floor, 24 Mayfair welcomes guests to the retro Hollywood inspired space which includes an intimate bar area.
The overall construction programme was 14 weeks over four phases. The first three phases took place whilst the Casino remained fully operational. The final phase which took place during weeks 12-14 of the programme, saw a full closure of the Casino. During this phase we reconfigured the main entrance and reception areas and undertook works to the feature staircase upto the first floor dining area. We carefully planned the works to ensure that we met the programme, in particular the final phase which required multiple trades to work 24 hours a day.
With the project being in Mayfair, access to site and deliveries were problematic. Access was restricted to early morning deliveries, with wait-and-load facilities for the removal of waste and debris from the site.
