We delivered the fit-out of a warm shell to create a three screen, 225 seat cinema within The Brentford Project, a riverside community and residential-led waterside development bordered by Kew, Chiswick, Ealing and Richmond upon Thames.
The works included all mechanical and electrical plant and equipment, including sprinklers to all areas; bespoke walnut and oak joinery to the bar and lounge including sunken lounge seating areas with fixed seating, marble bar tops, terrazzo flooring through the toilet areas and parquet flooring in the main bar. The state-of-art screens include NEC projection, Dolby 7.1 digital sound, satellite capabilities and hearing assist capabilities; and have the Everyman iconic plush velvet seating.
A key challenge for this project was the logistics for deliveries, storage and waste, as the area surrounding the cinema is a pedestrian zone, with occupied residential dwellings immediately above the cinema. We liaised closely with neighbouring businesses and residents to plan deliveries and minimise disruption during the works. Waste was taken away by caged vehicles only due to restrictions. Despite these challenges we achieved the 14 week programme.
