Craig Tara Holiday Park is one of Haven’s largest Parks. We undertook major demolition and structural works to completely remodel the derelict shell of a large complex building to form the Adventure Harbour Village.
For the more adventurous, the Village housed The Drop and The Jump which are adrenaline packed jumps, the high and low rope Ariel Adventure Course as well as the Crazy Climber fun climbing walls.
For the less adventurous visitors, we constructed a multi-purpose activity area for ball games, go-carting, exercise and dance, clay modelling and paint rooms; as well as sensory rooms.
The bar and restaurant area including external terracing and gardens completed the Village.
The programme was challenging for several reasons: the state of the derelict building; working in extreme weather conditions when repairing the shell; the time frame required by the client’s direct contractors on the specialist play and adventure equipment; to name but a few. We quite often worked extended and unsociable hours to maintain the overall programme.
As the Park reopened prior to Easter, the majority of our works were carried out behind hoardings as it was vital to separate the public from our construction works, site access and delivery areas. We successfully delivered for the required end date which allowed the Park to fully reopen for the Summer Season in early July.
