G F Holding was approached by the RNCM as they urgently needed the services of a main and principal contractor to oversee the delivery of the alterations and installation of a new café bar and seating area including associated kitchen refurbishment. The programme was initially from the 25th July 2022 with a handover prior to the August Bank Holiday 2022. The RNCM had been let down by other contractors and it was vital to deliver the project during the summer recess prior to the students returning in September.
Whilst the catering equipment had been previously ordered by the Client, the order was novated to G F Holding and we took overall responsibility. During the project, the catering manufacturer experienced difficulties with their supply chain but we worked closely with the manufacturer, their supply chain as well as the RNCM, and whilst it was necessary to extend the contract period by a further two weeks due to material delivery/off site manufacturing issues, we accommodated the early access of the students by working flexibly around them, adapting hoardings and delivering critical works outside of the standard working day.
In addition to the new café bar, further works were added to the Brodsky Bar and store room as well as the third floor corridor works.
We worked closely with the client at all times and we delivered the project successfully both to a revised programme and within the agreed budget.
