We delivered the strip-out, extensive internal demolition and full fit-out of a five storey Grade II listed former arts & crafts warehouse in Belgravia, London.  This redevelopment created high-end restaurants and bars: Japanese restaurant SACHI, Provençal restaurant Amelie, late-night lounge LUUM and Café Kitsuné, each with their own style, but exuding luxury and opulence.

Having lied empty for many years, the full fit-out included new layouts on each floor, new bars and kitchen equipment throughout, the overhaul of the existing passenger lifts and new dumbwaiter lifts between floors.  SACHI which is housed at the top of the building, includes a glass roof and a covered rooftop terrace outside.  We installed a brand new feature spiral staircase between the ground and first floors, which initially created some challenges to meet Building Regulations requirements whilst maintaining the layout of the ground floor bar and the adjacent elliptical feature ceiling.  The decorative steel, brass handrails, and oak treads and risers add to the impact of this staircase.  The opulent decoration continues with extensive fibrous plaster and glass reinforced Gypsum mouldings throughout, bronze glass mirrored ceiling and vaults to LUUM basement lounge, gold leaf features to various ceiling and wall features and fabric/LED ceiling rafts to SACHI.

A key challenge to this project was the delivery restrictions on Motcomb Street, which becomes an Al Fresco dining environment after midday.  We worked closely with the local authority and adjoining commercial and residential properties to schedule deliveries and to minimise disruption and noise during the works.  Internal access and delivery of materials to the five floors via staircases also presented a challenge.  Nevertheless, we delivered this project to the 18 week programme.
