Our Managing Director, Jeff Barton, first met James Hitchen in Spring 2016 and from there we refurbished his Manchester restaurant and then went on to fit-out new bars in Liverpool and Leeds.
For the Leeds site we transformed a Carluccio’s venue, with a fabulous design by Edwin Pickett. We worked alongside James and his team to allow us to successfully deliver the high-quality space he wanted to provide so his clients could relax and have fun in style. The fit-out included high-end design and materials.
A key challenge for the site was to install a sound ceiling. Our engineers became involved in the design of the ceiling, and developed it alongside the Client’s acoustician. We carefully programmed the works, so that we only worked at night to install the ceiling due to a firm of solicitors working within offices on the floor above. We were flexible, proactive and pragmatic, ensuring that we delivered the project on time; and we worked closely with the landlord and the adjoining tenants to deliver the best solutions for everyone.
The site was in the centre of Leeds, which resulted in issues around access, and delivering materials to site. We worked closely with the Council, as well as the Client and their neighbours to ensure that the materials were delivered in a timely manner, and our programme and budget was met.
