We delivered the full strip-out and refurbishment of the old Black Cats Bar at Sunderland Association Football Club, creating 76 Yards, a Hospitality Lounge. The Lounge was named 76 Yards to pay homage to the 76 Shipyards that operated on Wearside during the height of the Industrial Revolution.
Overlooking the Stadium of Light pitch, the works consisted of a large new kitchen including the famous pie servery for Michelin starred chef Tommy Banks, two new bars, new entrance lobby with concierge and a mixture of high perch seating and private booths. A key feature is the recessed ceilings with a new lighting scheme throughout.
This refurbishment included the full ground floor and premier concourses, including a redesign of all the kiosks with new worktops, tiling and illuminated signage. The full decoration throughout incorporated murals of Sunderland AFC’s rich history and club legends of the past and present.
The programme was constrained by the start of the Premier League, but we achieved this major refurbishment in the 11 week programme.
