Having acquired the holiday park in the autumn of 2022, Cove Communities was keen to reinvigorate and transform key areas of the park. We worked closely with the client to deliver the refurbishment a number of different areas at Cove Park, Solway. This included the Arcade, Bar & Restaurant and the restaurant’s toilets, as well as the children’s play area, showers and toilets for the swimming pool.
A key challenge was the 12 week programme for the works. As we started on site we discovered a number of issues with the building, including rotten roof timbers and drainage problems. In addition, the design was still evolving as we were progressing with the works; and as the location of the project is fairly remote site materials and plant was not readily available. All of these issues placed further pressure on the programme. However, with our can-do approach and a laser focus on delivering for our client, we achieved practical completion on time.
