In September we bid “happy retirement” to one of our delivery drivers, Paul Dawson, after 45 years’ service.
Paul joined G F Holding as a handyman and labourer working on sites around the country. In the early 1980s he started working at our workshop in Whalley Range. After a few months our then Managing Director, Geoffrey Holding, asked Paul if he would like to become a delivery driver. An opportunity that Paul took and thoroughly enjoyed!
At Paul’s retirement presentation, our Chairman, Simon Holding commented: “Paul has been a great asset to our team. We hope that Paul enjoys his well-deserved retirement, and stays in touch with his G F Holding family.” Simon presented Paul with a framed photo of the original G F Holding delivery van.
Paul commented: “I have really enjoyed my time working at G F Holding. I will miss the team and the work – it has been such a large part of my working life.”
